    Sound but no video?

    I'm using flaskmpeg 0.6, radium mp3 codec, divx 5.0.

when i try to rip a movie to divx/mp3, i get a divx sized file that only plays audio. the audio is very stuttery.

if i rip to divx/PCM, it works fine.

any suggestions on what i should be doing differently? thanks.

"if i rip to divx/PCM, it works fine."

Then load the file into VirtualDub

Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy"

Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode"

Under the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression" and choose your MP3 settings

    Save as a new filename

      1. Process the video alone.
      2. Extract the audio using other methods, like ac3dec or Graphedit.
      3. Interleave the audio and video using Virtualdub and follow Setarip's suggestion.

virtualdub video but no audio output

I am trying to convert several ASF files into AVI. They convert fine using Virtualdub but I must be missing something. I get no sound at all. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks,

What is the audio format of the .ASF file? (Load it into VirtualDub. Under the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information")

Virtualdub ASF video but no audio

If you're speaking of Compression it's Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer 3 codec. Thanks for your help so far.

I was asked What is the audio format of the .ASF file? And it is Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer 3 codec. Can anyone give me a hint as to how I can get audio with my converted files? Thanks.

                  To BlackJack

                  1) Do the .ASF files play with audio?

                  2) If not, do you have an MP3 codec installed on your system?

                  3) Be good enough to post (here) ALL the information listed (Video and Audio) under VirtualDub's "File Information", or make a screen capture .jpg of the information box...

                    sound but not video

                    The ASF does play audio

Since it's such a small file (less than 12 minutes), try a simple experiment:

Load the file into VirtualDub 1.3 (or 1.4ASF, whichever one you have)

Set both "Video" and "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode"

If you have another DivX codec installed on your system, select it from "Compression" under the "Video" dropdown menu. If you don't, then select "No Compression" ("No Compression" for "Video" will create a large file)

Select "Uncompressed" from under the "Audio" dropdown menu

Save as .AVI with a new filename
