Avi from Canon G1 only viewable using QT ???

I know im missing a codec, just not sure what to get....

the output of video from my canon g1, I can ONLY view with quicktime....when i try using mplayer, i get sound only.

other people CAN use mplayer to view these movies.

im running windows 98, on a p3 500. I have the latest versions of quicktime and mplayer.

Can anyone tell me what codec i need? i am unfamiliar with codecs or even what they do.

i downloaded Morgan Media mjpeg codec, and that resolved my problem.
