Wmv conversion

I need to convert a .wmv file but havent a clue how

Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thx

P.S Any other file will do, avi, mpeg etc

think tmpeg enc can encode wmv videos to mpeg videos

also some wmv videos can easily transformed to avi using virtualdub 1.3 c when renamed to asf files, dont know exactly how this works, better look in some guides
