    High Quality/VOB editing

I need to rip a DVD and edit scenes from it while keeping as near DVD quality as possible. Does anyone know of a way for me to do this?

    thanks, --Chris

You can use Smart Ripper 2.41 to rip the VOB's from the DVD. Then use a Program like FlaskMpeg or Xmpeg to encode the movie to .avi format. You can then use Virtual Dub 1.4.9 to edit the parts out of the movie you want. Good Luck!

That would depend on what you ultimately wish to create. Do you want:

      1) To burn a DVD?

      2) Burn a VCD?

      3) Burn an SVCD?

      4) Save an AVI video to either hard drive or burned to CD?

      5) Create an MPEG1 file on your hard drive?

      6) Create an MPEG2 file on your hard drive?

      7) Output to videotape?

        Hmmmm

I seem to have a problem, I use Smart Ripper to rip the dvd but then when it comes to changing the VOB files over using FlasKMPEG it seems to crash each time I try to do, I'm running windows xp if that matters at all I dont know.

What can I do??? PLease can someone help me?

            highest

it really doesnt matter what i ultimately do. It can be burned to a DVD or VCD, I just need super high quality, so far the programs mentioned, flask mpeg, are not near DVD quality. I would really just like to keep it as an edited VOB file.
            help needed.

            thanks, --chris
