    Help with vob files

Hi there I need advice with regards to a vob file I have on my hard drive.

It contains a slideshow of pictures with an audio track.

Is there any way I can get into the vob file to extract the pictures?

    Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forums. Are you seeking to extract "Still" pictures from the VOB file (i.e. in the form of a jpeg or bmp file)?

      Hi ormonde
      Thanks for replying so soon.

Yes the files I am wanting to extract are all still photos which have been placed into a slideshow (with effects etc), with music and then put onto DVD.

I believe you can use either "WinDVD" or "PowerDVD" to extract "Still" images from the DVD as .bmp files (bitmapped images).

I have windvd and as stated above it will allow you to capture still images.

I think what you are trying to do is take the still photos out that were originally put in. To my knowledge I don't think this can be done. Capture the image you want with windvd or similiar.

Alternatively, you could use VirtualDubMOD (Different than the "standard" VirtualDub) to accomplish this, as follows:

            1) Move the slider to line up the image you want to save

            2) From the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Snapshot sourceframe" and save in .BMP,.TGA, or .PNG format
