It would be interesting to find out why your capture process results in video and audio of differing lengths...

I'll try a smaller image size and constant bit rate for a while and see if that helps. I had noticed in (synch OK in playback) any of the players, a tiny intermittent jump in the video only.
It's probably time to invest in MJPEG codec.

Download and install showshifter. It will install an mjpeg codec.
Uninstall showshifter, and it (nicely) leaves the mjpeg codec on your computer

Thanks Reeboot, worked as you described, Thanks Setarip, I did loose my divx ! Will try out 3.11 as my replacement. I might get to know what all that low motion stuff was all about.
No more mpeg capture for me.

It's legitimate. Showshifter has a forum post on this somewhere...and the "slightly modified" version included, is indeed free, whereas the commercial download from picvideo is not.
The fact that it remains after an uninstall of ss, is a "known bug", that has never been fixed, and it seems they have no intention of fixing it.
They do not want any recordings made during the ss trial, to be obsolete if the user uninstalls, therefore, it remains.
