VirtualDub Problem

I can only capture segments of about 20 mins (4 GIG). I then process the file to compress and resize etc, and then capture another segment and process it and so on until the job is finished.

The problem is that each time I start a new capture, unless I restart my computer, VirtualDub freezes and I have to press Ctrl+Alt+Del several times to restart the computer. It makes no difference if I throw out the large temp capture file (4 GIG) or not before I start.

Can anyone suggest some way I can avoid having to restart my computer every time before I start a new capture?

if u wanna give freeVCR a try (my version is in german *lol*)

u can tell the prog to cut the file automatic at 3,99 GB and capture straight ahead all in once and got some 4 GB files

if u wanna have my german version to give it a try see attachment (i m not quite sure if it works with your configuration too)

I'm very grateful for your reply and your offer of FreeVCR.

I already have a copy of FreeVCR and you're quite right, it would solve my problem, but for some reason I can't capture audio with it.

I've tried it many different ways, always with the same result, perfect video, but no audio.

I suspect this may be an issue with my soundcard.

Virtualdub has problems with Windows ME, I would suggest another capture software.

MGI's Videowave is quite good and inexpensive. I would do a search on download.com and tucows.com At download.com read the reviews.
