Newbie question about closed captions (another one)

    Hi,

I have read the posts about closed captions and would like a it more information if this can be provided. I have backed up 'the two towers' but the closed captions are missing in the parts where they speak in elvish. I presume that I can add this but how can I tell by looking at the disk in DVD shrink whether the film has these captions or not? also how can I tell which stream is the captions as there are often lots of different streams?

Thanks for you time in advance.

    Al.

    Welcome to the forums ajohn!

Are the captions there on the original?

Perhaps you deselected the subpicture "English" in the backup process?

      Hi jmet,

Thanks for your quick reply. The captions are there in the original but I have only just been reading about how to add them in the backup. Everything is fine in the film except the captions when they speak in elvish. What I normally do is to add any english subtitles but this is obviously not going to solve the problem. I understand that I need to deselect 'Hide audio and subpicture streams of insignificant size' from the options but does this show a lot of different streams and if so, how am i supposed to know which stream is a closed caption?

      Many thanks.
