Hi, I am new to all of this and am confused about a problem that I am experiencing. Most of the dvd's I own can be backed-up and play flawlessly, however recently a couple of dvd's I have backed-up (with DVD Shrink), have, when I have tried to play them, been in black and white. I am playing them on a Ps2 and have been led to believe that a "fully loaded" scart cable would solve the problem. (Problem is, I don't know where to buy them? any ideas??). Also is there anyway of using software to fix this problem and encode the files differently, before burning them??? I appreciate any help/ideas with this problem.

welcome to the forum
from the info given - i think you're attempting to view a pal/ntsc signal on a non-compliant tv (your tv doesn't support it).
as for the scarts - do a yahoo/google search (eg: "ps2 scart"). at least that will get you closer to a retailer near you -
Have you recently performed a region hack on your player? Once a player has been successfully hacked, playback of a region one disc may result in a black and white or rolling picture. If this occurs, then ensure that your viewing source can support NTSC signals and the player is not set to PAL only output, be it from a switch on the rear of the unit or via the settings menu on the player. If you are unsure of the settings, then check the user manual for your video source and DVD player before changing the region settings.
