Is it worth getting, importing/editing the film, and then exporting as MPEG-2 and putting onto another program such as Premiere and burning to DVD via that?
Ok, I purchased a firewire card, and it came with a 4 to 6 pin cable.
I connected the firewire card, and the PC automatically picked it up and installed the drivers. All good....well no.
I plugged the cable into my camcorder (Sony DCR-TRV270E) and then into the firewire slot...nothing.
The actual card is recognised, but it doesn't seem to pick up anything on the device side. I've tried 4 different importing programs, and they all say the module is installed, but the device is not connected/on - when it is.
does anyone have any idea what the hell is going wrong? I've checked the manuals, online support etc - can't seem to find an answer thats actualyl fixing the problem. I gather that when the cable is connected with the camcorder, the device manager should pick up the camcorder and install it yes?
maybe your camcorder needs to be switched form record to playback?
try playback mode please
Nope Ive tried that.
I went into device manager, and can see the IEE1394 bus Host controller on there, and its functioning. I also have a 1394 Net Adapter in my Network adapters sections, is that normal?
Ive tried disabling that, and still no luck. Ive tried disabling my other network adapter (integrated LAN) and have the other one on, still nothing. So its not conflicting with that.
