    MPEG out of sync

When i want my avi backup convertet too Mpeg the sound is very much out of sync, the picture is ahead the sound, and it is very irritating.
I´m using the cucusoft Avi/Mpeg/vcd/svcd/mpeg converter V5.07. When i convert the backup further to vob the out of sync is getting worse....i think.

Anyone who can give me advice what to do, or maby i´m using the wrong programm?.
    Thnx Onkel X

changing the fps ? demux the video and audio. encode the audio and video separately. Check the length of the video and audio and correct if necessary. mux the audio and video together. or d/l and install the trial version of mainconcept and convert the avi file with it. mainconcept is an excellent, fast encoder IMO

my own method for fixing a/v synch issues:

play the file in "media player classic". under "options", select "audio switcher". guess the amount (in milliseconds) that it is out of synch by. (negative if video is before the audio). see the results. keep increasing/decreasing that number until the video is in synch. you should be able to narrow it down after ~5 turns to one that works perfectly. remember the number that worked. use a program of your choice to add delay to the video by that amount (virtualdubmod for avi, and tmpgenc for mpeg)
