    Still images question

I have had some old 8mm movies put on a DVD. I would like to make some still images and even crop some parts. Could someone please give me some help on this or tell me where one of you smart people have written it down.

    Thanks

If the movie is avi use Virtualdub for image sequences
if it's mpeg format use TMPGEnc.

      Still Images question

      Thanks for the reply.
The files are .VOB I have tryed snoopy; however, I get an error that says: " The tempdir=path is not valid in CDMOTION>INT file"
Any suggestions on this or getting still images from .VOB files?

      Thanks

.VOBs are essentially MPEG2 format files. You should still be able to use TMPGEnc to grab some stills. If you prefer, you could use a software DVD player, such as WinDVD to play the .Vob - and simply press the "p" key each time you want to grab a frame...
