Nero - Burning Rom has a known compatibility issue with this version of Windows. For an update that is compatible with this version of Windows, contact Ahead Software.'

been trying to read everywhere but I can't get it right. thanks for any help.

are you absolutely sure you got the latest version? uninstall all nero versions first, then get 'package 1' here http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/no_demo.php

that error message usually happens when using an old version of nero on a XP SP2 machine...

do you have xp SP2 (service pack 2) installed?

With my install program(old version), I have to jump thru hoops and get the same error message, first I install 6.0...., reboot then install 6.3....,
then reboot then upgrade to 6.6......

          XP sp2

I will wait a couple of years for them to get the bugs out of 7.

try setting the compatability settings for nero itself by using the compatiability wizard

That's for getting old windows 95 programs(etc) to run under XP, not for
              compatibilty with SP2 in XP.
Simply upgrade nero to a more compatible version and get rid of some
of the previous bugs, expect new ones tho, VBG!
