CD Burner not working

I feel very frustrated at the moment

I use Nero to burn data discs and recently I start burning and it completes... the burning is successful... but then when i go to open the disc the computer shows as if there is no disc in the computer

If i look at the disc it's obvious it's been burned but why does my computer not read it?... and no computer will read it because i've tried to open the disc in a few other computers and the same things occurs... as if no cd was in the drive

I have had exactly the same problem with 3 of 10 disks now. The whole write is successful, including disk finalisation. No errors whatsoever, but when i insert it in any reader, laptop, computer, standalone, they react as if nothing is inserted.

Any suggestions? I'm suspecting it's mediocre media, not sure though.

I would second the crappy media, though without knowing the media ID it would be hard to say. Try to get a different brand and see how that burn goes.
