    It was going well and then.......

    It all went belly up....I can copy and burn a dvd no problem....then I decided to copy the family films from the hard drive onto dvd....all went ok for a while and then ERROR...
    Can someone look at the error log and point out the problem...Thanks I would be lost without this site!

          Made a mess of the logs...but....Lt Columbo

          When I try to put the films onto dvd it comes up with the prompt of wrong disc type and will only record onto a CD R/ RW...is this the only way to do it...as of course I can't play this type of disc thru a dvd player (or my Play station 2 in my case!) Only thru my computers power dvd software. Is it the formats or something...how can I make the files dvd compatible?? Thanks..

                      it's a good burn. no errors there. you don't have the right log. update the firmware and nero like i told you earlier before burning and posting the log again. read the link on how to post the CORRECT log.

                          Firstly I will follow the links that you have kindly pathed out and carry out any necessary upgrades (I note nero have a patch that looks promising). I'll then repeat the film to dvd transfer and post the log again. (at work at the momment so it could be a while...please check back later!)

                          Secondly can I just say how good it is that you guys are willing to help others out on a day to day basis and sharing your expertise..a big pat on the back to you all.

                              Sorted.....sort of?

                              Just for the record...when the programme freezes it will not log the history as the pc needs to be rebooted and you have to end the program thru task manager..tried time and time again......No up-dated log...and yes the log will up-date on a good burn!! However I downloaded a simillar file to one that was freezing during the burn and everything went well...so I'm happy.
                              I have noticed that a few other Nero users have had simillar problems....and I was wondering if they had downloaded their files on another operating system such as win98 before then upgrading to xp..this is when my problems started and I was wondering if it generates a conflict somewhere along the line??

                              Any thoughts anyone???? Or am I just a daft newb.
