Need help...

I need help from all of you smart beings on this forum. So I converted a video clip I had to a DVD file (.Vob) and burned it onto a DVD. When I went to play it on my DVD player it didn't work. It said incorrect disk. Obviously it didn't recognize the file on the DVD-R. My DVD player is new. So I am guessing it I made a mistake when converting. What did I do wrong?? Thanks in advance.

did you also have the needed ifo's, and bup file(s)? what was used to create this .vob file?

I used Xilisoft Video Converter. I didn't have ifo and bup files. I converted a avi to a .vob file.

well that's the problem. you must have them. several ways to create them, but you can rename the vob to ".mpg" load into tmpgenc dvd author and create a nice menu for yourself even and it will output ready to burn vobs, ifo's and bup files.

I try to open the mpeg-1 file in tmpgenc and this is what it says:

The video resolution AAAxBBB cannot be used for a standard DVD.

The video resolution AAAxBBB cannot be used for a standard DVD.
For a standard DVD you can only use the following resolutions:

352x240 352x480 704x480 720x480 pixels (NTSC format only)
352x288 352x576 704x576 720x576 pixels (PAL format only)
*The video framerate xxxx fps cannot be used for a standard DVD.
You can only use the following framerate for a standard DVD:
29.97 fps (NTSC format only)
25 fps (PAL format only)

How do I fix this??

you said you were working with a vob file you created?

if that is a different file or the original form you will have to encode it first to make it dvd-compliant.
