I am just getting started in this. I have a few movies and would like to increase the size of the picture. I have one that is a bigger file size and when you increase to full screen it stays clear.(just like on a DVD.) Is there a way to do this with the downloaded movies I have now?, and if so do I need to Download something to get this done? Thanks in advance for any and all help
simple question

IMHO, you are unlikely to see much improvement when you increase the video resolution. Unless you apply certain appropriate filters (which I doubt will ever do the job well anyway), the encoding programs (Virtualdub, nandub and others) cannot increase the overall quality of the video file.
I have seen a few such videos and the creator ended up getting macroblocks on the video because of the low bitrate. Had the video resolution been unchanged (@320x240 instead of 512x384), the final video would have looked better.
However, if you insist, you can load up the video in virtual/nandub and apply the Resize filter. The instructions in the filter settings should be clear enough for everyone. -
thanks, but
I have tried to find the 'virtual dub' and 'nanub' at a few download sites but was unable to locate these. do you where they can be foundComment

Use a good player like http://www.sasami2k.com/ or any other that has options that improve quality. A 320*240-movie can't look like DVD, but at least you can make it look a little bit less worse...don't trust in guidesComment

The resize filter is built-in.Comment
