Replication vs. Duplication What's the difference?

Hi I am hoping that someone can enlighten me as to the differences in duplicating (dvd+-R-RW)vs. replicating/pressing (store bought originals). I currently use dvd-r as my media format and have had exceptional success. I would like to know if it is possible and how expensive it would be to purchase the same type of equipment that is used by the movie/music studios to "press" dvd's and cd's. What brand of media is used? And what are the costs per disc invloved. I am very interested in finding out where this type of equipment can be purchased. If anyone has any helpful hints please pass them along. Thanks everyone for all the help so far!

I once investigated it while back, the basic/cheap machines they use to press are like $5,000 starting out. They are not available to purchase by the public. You have to have some sort of company license.

It's not worth it, unless your Bill Gates.
