    dcr-trv103 as a webcam

I'd like to use my Sony DCR-TRV103 as a webcam.

I imagine to use the yellow output RCA jack to connect
to the input RCA jack of a TV card in my computer.

I'd like to make it work without recording a tape.

I have it working, but if I don't press the record
button and tape the video as well, the auto shutoff
feature shuts the video off after about 10 minutes.

Is there any way around this? I have long since lost
the manual and there appears to be none on the
web (that google has found). I've also gone
through all of the menu items on the camera
by pressing buttons and turning thumbwheels,
but could not find a way to disable the autoshutoff.

The reason I want to use this camera is because
I'm not using it for anything else, I don't want
to throw it away, and I don't have a lot of money
to buy another camera (or anything else).

I read somewhere that this is possible (using
this Sony as a webcam), but I can't recall where
or how or even if the autoshutoff was an issue.

The easy work-around, of course, is to put
a tape in and record. It won't shut off then.
But it also uses more battery power. (I lost
the power cord and a new one is well over
$50!, I guess because of the proprietary
adapter. I'm using batteries and a separate
    charger.)

    Thanks for any tips.

Use it in CAMERA mode but without the tape inside.Do not press the RECORD button.Without the cassette/tape inside, there should be no Auto Stop.
