how does it happen-that whenever i download a full -size feature
(some 90 min movie) from the web,its less than 1gb in size-which is about the size of a 5 min video that i make on my ulead videostudio? how can i match that?

Simply said, you need to apply a compressor for your video.

You can open your short-and-yet-huge video in virtualdub. Set video to full mode processing and select a compressor. Generally, you would select a DivX codec (It's a personal preference, so I won't force my opinion on which codec version should be used). Choose an appropriate bitrate (A bitrate calculator will come in handy). Save as .AVI and give a name.
