WinAVI registered version...used any to vcd...

option to convert avi files to vcd. It spits them out as .mpg file extension. I'm assuming that's the proper file type, but does this mean other .mpg files on my HDD are already vcd files and need no further converting before being burned onto vcd? Any help appreciated, thanks for taking time to help.

you may have mpeg-2 which are not VCD compliant. re-encoding would be needed in that case.
