Trouble creating a start up disc.

I am trying to upgrade my firmware, i have created a start up disc and put the files needed onto it. when i reboot it comes up and i have been told to type in 4. At the command prompt.
+-------------------------------------------------------+
Type "DVFLASH <Firmware>".
+-------------------------------------------------------+
Usage: DVFLASH <filename.xxx>

+-------------------------------------------------------+

I've done this but it says bad command. could anyone help pretty please.
(Apu comes back to his store after closing it down for 5 minutes – Hans is waiting) Hans Moleman: You cost me 5 minutes of my life and I want them back!
Apu: I am sorry, sir.
Hans Moleman: Never mind, I would have just wasted them anyway.

Usage: DVFLASH filename.xxx
dvflash 260d.bin (or something to that effect)
at least you got it to boot, that's a big step, I haven't done a firmware
flash from dos for an optical drive in years

hey, the good part of this, is it's the same procedure for flashing a computer bios, and I do that all the time

It seems that you already have the newest firmware for your DVD drive (version 2.60).

There are "Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)" and "Power calibration error". I suggest that you should try the better brand of DVD media such as Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. If the problem still doesn't go away, you may need to clean the lenc or a new burner is needed

Regards

do you have any other rw's, I don't trust them very much, that brand is fine, but that disk may be a goner, and your burn is failing right away

oppi1983, at this point i'd seriously try and see if you can find the means to get a new drive. you can get a good one, (and suggestions on which are best) for less than you might think. i do sympathize with your problem.
