Can't play my smr movie!

Hey everyone and thanks in advance for any help I receive.

I recently downloaded a couple smr movies and was told I had to install an smr codec patch. I've done everything I can think of, which isn't much, but when I try and play my smr movie file on windows media player I have no sound or picture. It does open and play, but nothing to watch or listen to. What am I doing wrong?

Use WMP 6.4. There may be problems with divx 5.0, if so revert back to a previous codec. Alternatively, adjust your brightness settings? (happened to me once, everything was grey).

This is currently the problem i have. I only get a gray screen.

Have you tried adjusting the brightness settings?

For a more accurate solution to your problem, load the file into virtualdub and post all the "file information" there.

In the meantime, if you want things to proceed quicker, install divx 3.11 alpha---and let us know what happens afterwards. Note divx 5.x are problematic codecs, so uninstall them prior to installing divx 3.11

I still just get a grey screen. I've uninstalled the divx5 and have now got 3.11 but i get nothing. I can view the video in Vdub however. Can anyone help?

Have you installed the SMR patch---if this is an SMR movie.

This movie may be "corrupt" , back it up, and try Divfix.
