    Clueless

I'm an absolute beginer to this dv editing malarky and would like some help on what is the best or most user friendly or your favourite dv editing software??? Any help or walkthroughs you could point me in the direction of would be greatly appreciated.

Check out the FAQ's and Stickys section in the "authoring and editing" forum there is quite a bit there on this subject, including links to programs and guides.

What kind of editing are you looking to do?

Is the video home made or commercial ?

And, how in-depth are you planning to go with the dv editing? Do you want to add music files? Multiple menues, fades & other goodies?

          regards, katz

It's just home video editing but at the moment I'm trying to add multiple menus and I'm having seriously frustrating results!! (I'm using Nero).

            Thanks for your help

What version of Nero? I use Nero 6 (6.6.0.18) and have been able to build multiple menus / chapter points without much trouble. Are you doing this in Nero Vision Express?

It's Nero version 6 I'm using and I've been able to insert the chapters. I can't add in a main menu or a title menu though. Any help at this stage would be greatly appreciated. What I want to end up with is a menu with two pictures and when you click on eith picture it takes you to five chapters each.

I know this can be done, and I have done it, I dont have access to details though from here at work. One thing I can suggest right now is, go to the Digital Digest Home Page (see the link at the top of the forum page) and do a search for Nero vision express guides. I believe you will find some good info there on this by some of the best forum members we have here. I will try to find more info, it wont be until late tonight when I get home.

I found a couple of links that may help:

The work firewall wont let me open the first one, and the pics on the 2nd dont show for me, but if my memory is at all good they are the ones I was looking for.
