    Inserting screenshots

    Hi,
I want to include a screenshot in a message to illustrate a point. Can someone tell me how to do this please?
    Many thanks,
    Manser

        Hi,
Thank you both for your replies. I thought I was being stupid but it looks like I'm not the only one who's found it difficult.
        Regards.
        Manser.

you are in no way "stupid" Just learning something that is new to you.

We have all been there and still are there with other things.
Technology keeps changing and there will always be something new to learn.

          Glad it helped you.

            Hi,
I've just used imageshack but the default option of "websites and emails" gave an image that was too small to see. Which option should I choose to make the screenshot readable? I've attached the screenshot I tried. See what I mean about the size?
            Many Thanks,
            Manser.

You posted a thumbnail image which is fine, just click on it if you want to see it and it will open up full size.

                Hi locoeng.
Thanks for your reply. That seemed to work but which options in Imageshack should I choose so that the image is full size in the post. Most of the posts I've seen with a screen shot have them full size. Sorry if I'm being thick, but I'm just finding my way round these forums ("fora" to be precise )

                Many thanks,
                Manser.

Choose the one with the [img] tags already around it....for large screenshots like the one you've posted thumbnails are better because if the image is too large it will throw off the format of the page.

A bit of trial and error I suspect. I couldn't read the text on the thumbnail when I blew it up so that was obviously too small. Something in between perhaps. I'll get the hang of it eventually.
                    Many thanks,
                    Manser.

If you use PhotoBucket you can upload at full size and then reduce with a click of a button in the edit feature of the site...it will reduce the image 25%, 50% and 75% and keep the aspect ratio correct. This will keep the image nice and managable and still readable.

@ manser; you can check the "properties" of pics that you see posted in threads. When you see one that is a size that you would like yours to be, use those dimensions; For example, after I take a screen shot, I will open it in irfanview (pic edit program), size it to say 400 x 600 (example), save as png & upload to photobucket.

Then, when you paste the img link in the body of your message, it will include the full size screen shot like you want, instead of a clickable thumbnail.

                            hope that helps!

                            cheers, katz
