Fullscreen DVD ripping (Friends dvd)

Can anyone give me advice when ripping the friends season 1 dvds. Unlike other MOVIES i ripped, this is fullscreen. When i rip n encode, You can see lines in the movie at parts and the framerate skips around a bit. Can neone tell me how they rip FULLSCREEN movies as they are different to widescreen which i can do flawlessly. or help me out with this actual dvd. Much appreciated.

for this dvd, i've been using smartripper then flask. im using divx 4. low motion. ive messed round with different resolutions but all seem to have the same 'glitches' in playback. Also, framerate of 23.97 makes the vid skip frames often.
Ive been using flask for everything. Is there another method u could suggest? Much appreciated.

In Flask, under the "Video" tab:

1) Select "Deinterlace"

2) If there is a checkmark in "Reconstruct Progressive Images", uncheck it. If there's is no checkmark, put a check in the box
