This problem makes my hair gray...

Hi everyone, I've had this REALLY strange problem ever since I reinstalled windows98.

Whenever I try to load a DivX encoded .AVI file in mediaplayer, it locks up. It just says "Media changing" but nothing happens. BUT, if I shut MP down by hitting ctrl+alt+del and then wait a few minutes I can usualy play files as normal, they load fine, etc.

I'm currently using DivX 4.12, I've tried to install the 5.0.1 but that doesn't work at all. The lockup problem also occurs in DivXplayer Alpha...

...so...any suggestions for the newbe loser...please?

If you're not already doing so, try using v.6.4 of the Windows Media Player (MPLAYER2.EXE on your Win98 installation disk)...
