It's all in the thread night linked too, mostly bitsetting is why

why pioneer didn't enable it in their regular firmware is a mystery to me, course nec does the same thing

I wouldn't have a drive that couldn't bitsett dvd+r's to dvd-rom booktype

might want to return it and get one that does
