cross flashing and flashing are two diff thing, cross flash is flash to dif model but all of your hardware is the same, flashing is just up date your firm ware you need to say what model you have and current and what firmware you want to flash to?

          i should have specified

i have that site bookmarked and i have read it 50 times but it doesnt describe how to actually do it it just gives you the place to get the correct firmware.
i am a dummy when it come to this, i know it voids the warranty but i dont care i bought this burner and for god sakes its going to burn a dvd not just be an expensive cd burner

ok just wait then I will give you answer after

get this link then go to the PIONEER DVR-111L

you have to flash to 8.19 first before you can move up to diff one ( make sure you pick either internal or external base on your drive)

after down load just double click the 8.19 then go one from there

the really important thing is to make sure nothing interupts or corrupts the flash

buggy ide drivers, power outage, virus scan, you name it

if you are having problems with the drive it's best to sort them out first then flash

the same problems can hose the flash and kill the drive

I like to use safe mode to flash, for those reasons
