I was reviewing the Golden Rules of Burning and nowhere in my system's hardware properties do I see IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers in order to check the settings as recommended. I have Windows XP Multimedia Edition on my computer. Advice?

you probably have some funky drivers under system devices or sata optical drives?
ide only applies to pata hard drives and atapi opticalsComment

Better yet what kind of mobo do you have?? Also have you installed your mobo chipset drivers from the cd that came with your mobo?Comment

that's the description windows xp puts on for a sata controller chipset
get used to it, intel is phasing out ide controllers
but then dma doesn't apply to themComment
