joined avis triples in size with VirtualDub

howdy! I tried using VirtualDub 1.6 to join 4 avi files of about 20MB each. End result was 250MB. Any way I can keep it the same size so it comes out as 80MB?

well, before I do that, I noticed that the new video is 3 minutes in length whereas the two videos I was joining are only 30 seconds each. There are 9 videos in the folder, sequentially numbered. It looks like VirtualDub joined 6 of them together, even tho I only told it to join 2. So I moved 2 to a new folder separate from the others and joined them, and it worked perfectly.

So ,you see,the fault was not with VD . You can also try AVIMuxGUI for joining AVIs.
