I am looking for program and info to put shows recorded from dvb card in .mpg format to dvd. My recordings look great, 544x480. I tried using tmpgenc3 but it took 1 hr 14 min to encode. result looked ok and played in dvd player, a few frame jumps. Took way too long, I would like something twice as fast. You guys know of anything? I know it can be done faster than this. I have an amd 2900+ cpu @ 2 ghz, 1 gig ddr 3200 @ 400 mhz, 7200 rpm ata133 hdd, xphome. help and advice appreciated, nice site.

hard drive has little to do with it
convertxtodvd, pay program is probably fastest
my amd64 3500 @ 2.25 is 33% faster and that's a lame cpu by today's standards -
Hmmmmmmm you might check into SVCD2DVD. It was originally made to take the mpg from a VCD and just convert the audio to be DVD compliant...then author a DVD. It has a simple menu design mechanism. The author has a forum on VideoHelp.com
Talk about anything SVCD2DVDMPG, SVCD2DVD and VOB2MPG Pro related here. Bugs, issues, features, comments.
You can ask if it's a good fit for what you're doing. It's about $20 but AFAIK has unlimited updates for registered users. I've been using it for over a year and the support
through that forum is very good.Comment
