    dvd+r

    hi folks,
    question..
im using an asus drw-0804p dvd burner..
i have no problem burning cd's whether it be a audio or mp3 format..
no problem burning a dvd..heres the issue...
when it comes time to transfer whatever it is im wanting to put on a dvd...
all it allows me to do is use a dvd r/w..
now i dont have any dvd-r's on hand..
    only dvd+R'S..
would i be posting this if i had dvd-r's instead???
nero tools app tells me this burner reads and writes to +r's...
    but im having no success..
    thanks for any input....
i use dvd decryp or dvd shrink..
    or nero..
once again..getting it to my hard drive isnt the issue...getting it on something other then a rewritable dvd is..

You are probably trying to use 16X blanks that your burner won't recognize or some off brand, burners have firmware, it needs to support the mid code of the blanks

what does the nero tool list your firmware version as?

What is the MID code of these discs you're using?

If they are poor quality, it might be wise to try some better discs as they might me more recognised by your burner's firmware.

they may have been off brand but that mid code is well known, cmc mag, or at least mine were, you will need 8x blanks
