Sueveillance Video DVR - No Sound

    Hi All:

    New to this form.

    I have two questions:

    1)

I have had to install a video surveillance system for my home. Neighbor trouble. Anyway the thing records OK and will play back sound. It will only burn to CD not to DVD. Supposed to be Linux OS. The unit came with software to view and listen to CD. Views OK but no sound on computer when you play the disc. I have had to record to VHS to get the sound. Any ideas?

    2)

I need to convert a bunch of VHS tapes to disc for court next month. Was looking at the Plextor Convertx. Is this the best unit or are there better ones out there?

    Thanks in advance

Hope to here some good ideas

    1) No idea.
    2) I'd use a DVD recorder for that. Simpler than capturing with a PC.

      1) A make and model of the DVR would be helpful. Most models of DVRs I work with, exporting sound along with the video is a separate option, usually just a checkbox when you're exporting clips. There may be an option somewhere to enable this as a default.

      2) I agree with olyteddy... standalone DVD recorders should be available cheap these days.
