movies wont play

Need help. I am having difficulty playing some dvd on my p.c. All other movies play fine. They are Gangs of New York and You me and Dupree. These two movies refuse to play. The message I get is- A disc with unsupported Format in Drive D. I also occassionally get a window with Autosearch. I have cleaned the discs and the drive.

I have a Lite on DVD RW SHW 160P6s. This is driving me batty. I usually play movies when I work in my office as background distraction. My DVDs play fine in my lap top and in my DVD players.

are the problem dvd's damaged? look at them in a bright light

you can sometimes polish out scratches or scuffs

you may have started to wear out that liteon

Thanks for your advise. I have cheched the dvds and they are scratch free. I have also just loaded and played about 20 dvds and they all work fine. Looks like my lite-on is working fine. This is really making me go PSYCHO. It just seems these two movies. Would there be anything on these that stop them being played on DVD rw. I am at a loss.

do a transfer rate test on a burned dvd and compare to mine
