mp4 to DVD

i am a complete dunce when it comes to filetypes. can somebody just please give me the necessary settings required if i want to convert mp4 to DVD using mediacoder. I tried ALMOST all commercially available software and i either get extremely glitchy video or absolutely no audio(actually i can hear the odd click sound randomly coming while playback of converted file). I am desperate i really need to be able to play these files back on my dvd player.

Better freeware available than Medicoder IMO, try FAVC, DVDFlick,WinFF.
If you want commercial proggy SVCD2DVD is very good as well..

SVCD2DVD I do not heard this, what are the new version in SVCD2DVD.
