Need advice please

Hello everyone. I have come to this forum for advice and willingness to learn more. Ok lets give you the rundown on my problems. I had to retore my computer back to factory settings on saturday. So basically i have a brand new computer.
I record my webcam shows on a site with sytexis recorder and then had an avi video convertor that coverted the file . Now ov i have lost all this. So i download sytexis web stream recorder pro and brought it. Well it doesnt record the cam. I can record youtube etc with it. Which is no good what so ever for me. Now i have downloaded sytexis direct stream recorder which is exactly what i want for the job I have emailed sytexis in the slim hope of geting it free as i brought the other one by mistake.
So my main question is this .
What video convertor will i need to convert the files i made from direct stream to be able to play in my dvd recorder ? My recorder plays divx files. But i remember on my old video converter i had to convert avi to avi to play it on my dvd player. befor i converted the files i made they were like 30 mb and after convertign they were only about 2/5 mb long which was great as i could put lots on a disk Now you might be wondering why dont i get that avi video converter back ? Well i struck lucky 1st time with it and brought it off ebay. I know nothing what so ever about any of this. I have just got lucky with it all.
So really what i am saying is can someone please tell me what video convertor do i need to be able to play on my dvd player please. Also i badly need a free one if possible ? If not i can only buy 1 of ebay. So if theres no free ones ? Then could someone look on ebay for me ? And then i will buy it.

See i am allready learning. I am reading virtual dub at moment As i say i am willing to learn and not here for 1 answer and then never to be seen again . I am not downloading nothing till i get advice as i know i will cock it up lol. sandra.

Thankyou for reply les. I get impression you dont want forum clogged up with my questions and any one eles . As i see you give very short blunt replys which is fine by you. I think i have come to wrong place for help it seems. Its ok saying read the guides etc.. Which i have done and still am no foward as i said i am completely new to all this lark.I downloaded dvd flick and attempted to burn a video clip file to dvd and failed miserably . I used to burn them to cd-rw disks as i have never been able to burn to dvd disks ? And when i did that i only had to press 1 button and ok and it was all ready to send to cd-rw disk So is there anyplace on this forum for me to get expert help and stop clogging your forum up ? If not i will ov move on and leave you all in peace. As i said I AM WILLING TO LEARN but i do need advice. kind regards sandra.

I have found what i used to have . Theres no way i can buy it as i dont use cards no more.can only use ebay.So is there anything like this FREE ? It was so easy to use aswell. I copy to cd-rw as i dont think my comp disk drive is modern enough to convert to dvd. I am sorry for all these posts admin. . Ok it wont let me post link so i cant show you. All i want is to convert my files to cd-rw and play on dvd player. My converter was winavi Video Converter.kind regards sandra.

I am not aware of detailed guides. But for the software mentioned, it is supposedly load up your AVI and one click and out comes a DVD project. DVD Flick even comes with ImgBurn integrated in it to burn your converted project on a DVD.

As for winavi (frequent spammer of this forum), it is rubbish.

We do have forums dedicated to DVD Flick and SUPER. Maybe have a look there.

Hi les,Thankyou for replying again Right i have not explained properly have i. I record my cams and then use winavi to covert them to avi. I then send them to disc to copy on to cd-rw I cant burn to dvds as i dont have right disk drive i dont think. Now is there a free easy program that can do this ? Look forward to your reply.

Thats just it nightran They are not easy at all to a complete begginer. And i did google it soon as you put that up and i really dont have a clue to what you have put up lol. See i am that stupid. Here are the links that you need ... just read a little and play around with Small Test Clips (10MB size) till you get the hang of it ... then you are Hooked!

Well well well what have we here I have just converted a clip on to cd and played it on my dvd player and it bloody worked Woohoo. Thats saved me some money folks Thankyou. Buttttttttttt there is 1 problem lol I had the dixvideo logo in bottom right corner on my video playing it on tv. I am sure thats an easy fix ? So next step is a Very good webcam stream recorder ? I have tryed a couple of free ones but i hate them.I need somthing very simple to record the cam Not the whole page etc.. Many thanks all for help here. P.s msn anyone ? I dont bite hehe. Hahahah les. Anyway got loads of other problems still lol . Like i cleared all my cd-rw disks and saved the clips i want on to my comp. I copy them back on to disk and it keeps freezing and 1 disk wont even play now. I need to know exactly whats best for geting my clips on to disk ? msn anyone ? Also how do i know if i can burn clips to dvd ? I can play a dvd in my drive tho. kind regards sandra.
