    DVD player output Help

    Hi

I was wondering if the Techs here on DVD Digest can help a Old simpleton like me with a DVD playback query.

I have a Pioneer DV-610AV-K and a 32" CRT TV Toshiba 32ZT29B connected via Component

I really like the SD TV and gives great quality pictures

My problem is that i have some wedding DVDs of family members and Film movies that i would like to watch in Progressive Scan mode .... but my Toshiba 32ZT29B can only output Progressive Scan in NTSC Mode not PAL (i live in the UK)

Is there a way to force the Pioneer DV-610AV-K to play a PAL DVD as a NTSC so that it plays in Progressive mode

Also can you do the same when Playing DIVX movies encoded in PAL when streaming from the USB port of the Pioneer DV-610AV-K

Thanks for taking the time to read my message

    Bob

    Hi Bob52,

If this is your DVD Player ... it should be able to play ANY AVI files period.

The unit looks like a pretty upscale DVD Player ... I am willing to guess that your unit should also play PAL or NTSC right out of box.

If you still have the "Manual" ... look in there about "Setting Up" the unit the way you want it to behave.

    Post back your result.

Also, if the above fails ... just convert your PAL Video to NTSC and play it back!
