OK...I've played with Ulead Video Studio 5.0, Dazzle VC II and have successfully burned NTSC style DV demonstration CD's for sales presentations.
I've now left my former company and have DV CD's of the "raw footage" (with their permission) and do not have access to the original Hi8 tapes. I can get MP7.1 to play the video's...but very few programs will allow me to edit the video's on the CD's. Ulead see's the video but it says (under properties) MPEG Frame B...I can grab the file an place it on the video timeline...but it splits the timeline horizontally (one black bar and one white horizontal bar/field down the entire video) after I play the file on the time line.
Dazzle software (demo version I tried to save these files) does not recognize the format. MainActor Editing tools do not recognize it. TMEg (whatever) reads it but can't complete the conversion
WinProducer & Coder does (demo versions as well) I'm trying to save a project...and at the same time decide on a software package to use for burning DVD style sales presentations that CAN BE PLAYED ON ANY CD ROM, PC DVD PLAYERS! WinCinema (with MyDVD) seems to be the only product that will autoload a DV player embedding it on the DV CD I can create on my CDRW...
Questions:
1) Is there a way to determine the setting/codec's used on the existing DV's so I can make them/importing software compatable?
2) Any other cost effective programs that can create Autostarting DV players on to a CD for playing on a standard PC CD player (I want the quality of 720 X 480 DV on a CD Rom) besides WinCinema (My DVD)?
