    stooopid nuuubie!

    Hey a noobie

Finally a decent program to rip DVD, then to convert them to divx avi files, smartripper and flask. I have heard of these programs but thought they wouldn't work on my win95 amd K6II 350, but oh yes they do. Sure it is very slow. But when I tried ripping the Matrix I did a sample at first and I was amazed at the quality of the movie. I finished ripping and converting and it took my PC about a day to do it but I'm not complaining. I used BSplay to view my movies, this is a cool little program as you can skin it and has loads of features like speeding up/down the movie and capturing screenshots, plus the quality is good and I've had no problems with it. The next thing I should do is buy a cd writer. Can you use dvd writers to store divx files as you could store quite a lot on DVD discs.

Nice forum, what do you think of my sig

Good to see that you are taking to the rites of DVD ripping and rip viewing very well. I'm just wondering about the objective of your post though. Most people who post here are asking for solutions to their ripping problems.

I'm surprised that you are one of the FEW people who don't own a CD-writer, which has become an integral part of a system nowadays. About time you got yourself one.

Surely, as long as the file(s) size does not exceed the capacity of the DVD disc.

I don't pay attention to banner-type signatures, unfortunately for you.
