    No, .divx files are just avi files that has been renamed.
    Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

      DivX is a specific form of .AVI compression (a subset, if you will)...

        Technically this is not quite true..

        Divx compression is not limited to using avi files for storage. Ogg Media file format and mp4 file format can also be used.

        But of course this is only a technicality, the ogm file format has a very small userbase. And the mp4 format is still purely experimental.
