    sound quality question

    Hi!
    This is my first post.
I've read alot of guides for Shrink,Decryptor ,Recode etc...But I'm alittle confused about the audio files! I see that for Nero reloaded there is a multichannel plug in (more features than the normal reloaded plug-in) and I see that Shrink gives choices about which audio to keep,5.1,2.1 etc.
I know about these formats etc,but I'm confused as to the quality of the sound from the two programs. The reloaded plug-in uses the Dolby trade mark, but Shrink does not...
I guess what I'm trying to ask is,will the multichannel plug-in give better sound or are they the same?
I hope I expressed myself clearly!
    Thanks
    Debs

    Hi Debs67 and welcome
AFAIK other than enabling/disabling sound streams, DVD Shrink does not degrade the sound. It compresses only the video content.
Disabling all but the DTS stream however will only present a soundtrack on a suitably DTS compliant receiver.
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!
