Nero Recode/DVD Shrink/DVD2One Shuts Laptop Off Completely!

Hi, today I tried to backup one of my DVD's using DVD Shrink; I click Open Disc, and it analyses it and then Back Up, but after about 5%, my laptop screen goes black and switches off!!
So then I decided to use DVD2One, but the same thing happened about 20% in.

So then I used DVD Decryptor to rip the DVD, and then compress it with Nero Recode 2, which I admit worked better, but yet again my laptop cut off!!

I don't think its down to overheating.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix this, its had be baffled for the last couple of days...?
