1. export to dvd
2. export to adobe media encoder
(basically re-encoding my mpg2 to (mpg2 dvd)???? no compression but ability to save on hard drive.
haven't tried that yet but maybe hmmmm... if it's recompiling maybe hopefully it will be saved as a vob file but again this is one mutha of a file. then maybe shrink or recode can come to the rescue.Comment

If you're not too sure, you can select "Fit all to DVD". It then compresses everything for you. The main menu even has default animated titles and background music. (I've eliminated the music and animated buttons 'cause it eats up DVD space) So now I have a basic DVD (plain jane) that just plays our trailers.
try in out at http://www.sonic.com/products/Consum...quicklook.aspxComment

Anyhoo... thanks again 2Cool!
BTW I just realized (after banging my head trying to figure this out) that our trailer dvd player is the LG LDA 530 which plays divx, dvd+-r/rw, and get this native mpg4's. Now it's off to using the Sony Sound Forge 8, open up all 60 mpg2 files, batch encode all of them to mpg4 then... throw them all onto the dvd-r. Hopefully it'll work I'll let you know how it goesComment

Well... Sound Forge doesn't convert to MPG4's
But I'll try DivXCreate bundle. I'm now processing 61 mpg2 files into DivX format.
Hopefully (aaaaaaargh!) this will work because our dvd player plays Divx Files.
BTW Sonic did and didn't work (glitches, made 3 dvd coasters out it)
I'm spending way too many hours at the store trying to do this!!!!Comment

the best way to convert to mpeg-4 (i suggest xvid instead of divx, due to increased speed and better quality IMO) is to use "autogk" (AKA auto gordian knot). recommended for beginnersLast edited by anonymez; 4 Sep 2005, 10:33 AM.Comment

Well folks after spending 10 hours at the store (I'm here so much that you could basically call it my second home)
I've come to the conclusion:
DivX Create Bundle was the saviour. Unfortunately in order to play divx movies, your DVD player must be divx compatible which ours is. (LG LDA 530 - we bought for only $99 at futureshop)
Time to encode 61 MPEG2 trailers on a 2GB pc2 4200 DDR 2/Intel 830D dual core 3GHZ/250MB Serial ATA/ Hewlett Packard HP pcm7170n monster of a machine was 2 hours and 45 minutes.
7 minutes to burn on Nero
In DVD format all 61 files used up 4.51 GB's on the DVD-R
In DIVX format all 61 files used up only 1.01 GB's.
So hopefully this can help anyone out there trying to figure out how to fit your owned compiled mpeg2 files onto a dvd when you have alot.
I guess it's now 9:05PM Vancouver Time I've been here since 8:30AM and my work is now complete.
Thanks all for all your comments. Have a good night!
And thank you divx for saving the day.Last edited by QPhone; 5 Sep 2005, 01:33 AM.Comment
