Nero and DVR-MS (media center file)

I have this huge 4 hour media center recording that I wanted to edit, then burn, using NeroVision3.

According the Nero website, Nero should support the DVR-MS format (which is a type of MPEG2). The file loads successfully into Nerovision, where I edited it and then created menus for it.

Since the file is huge (9gigs after all the menus), I was planning on writing to a hard disk folder, then loading into Shrink to burn.

After Nero transcodes the menus, it spits out an error:

    "Burn Process Failed!"

Here are the last few entries of the log (after the menu transcoding):

Does anyone have a clue why it's terminating at this point? Do I need to convert DVR-MS files? I tried searching forums and the Nero site itself and didn't find any help.

    nero & DVR-MS

    Hi There

I know the problem with burning DVR-MS files
The solution I use is simple
split the file in parts smaller than 2 GB and burn them on a DVD, then you can play them together with Nero Vision, for watching on en TV you must tell the PC that the TV is the First screen
Otherwise you have to convert them to an AVI movi and build a DVD with a movie program but that cost a lot of time

Thanks for the tip. I think size really was a factor. Since then, I've realized that everything else I've recorded in the DVR-MS format (1/2 hour and one hour shows) seems to work just fine in Nero. That or just maybe a corrupted file or something.

        DVR-MS format

take care of the quality you're recording in, the best quality give you very big files, 1 hour goves about 3 GB files, so you can only burn movies with a timr lenght of 1 1/2 houron a single layer recorder, but most of the time rhis will be enough
