Recode2, sharp to maximun sharp

i know that to change from sharp((default) to maximun sharp i have to change "a special value" inside the windows registry, my questions are, how do i get to the windows registry? or where do i find it? and, once i do, do i get to choose between sharp, or maximun sharp, or do i have to change the setting by actually writting it?

2. The option 'run'
3. Write: regedit
4. Search for the key to change

I open regedit and I'm not all that familar with windows registry editing. I opened it and looked at recode but not sure what needed changing since I saw no reference to value sharp or etc.
