I am very familiar with using the reauthor mode in shrink to backup only the main movie to decrease compression and thus better quality backup. I backed up a disc recently not realizing it had widescreen and full frame versions on same disc. long story short full backup with recode2 looked horrible went to recode to try to burn main movie only figuring it would give me the option of which version i wanted but it said that it detected more than one possible main movie file and it recommended that i import all files. I then went to shrink reauthored and succesfully backed it up but i want to know how to deal with a disc like this using recode2
backin up main title when two version on same disc

You may also be able to deal with that situation by what initial option you choose. If you are using the "recode entire dvd" try using "recode main movie only" and then you should see all available titles, be able to preview them and import the one you want.
Keep us posted and let us know what worked best for you.Comment

Nothing wrong with you standing behind what you believe in, I think that everyone should have their voice heard, but you can't expect that everyone would agree with what you say.
I've had people disagree with my comments as well, but I just get over it and move on.
To me, I think the main reason that you may be getting most of your post disagreements is when you flame the Wizard process or state that DVDD is useless, or questioning the other members reasons for using them if they so choose.
I, like you have tried the Wizard process and personally wouldn't really need it because of having AnyDVD, but I understand why other members choose that as their main back-up tool and understand that it is their perogative to do so.
I personally don't care for Nero, but I wouldn't say that everyone should feel as I do. Many here don't care for AnyDVD and thats their viewpoint, but I love my AnyDVD and DVD Shrink.
Ahhhh, Variety! Cheers to it.MBK

thank you mike. I didn't realize i was coming off like that. I guess it is hard for me to understand why i would use that program without all the features that make it relevant in todays dvd backing up world. saying dvdd was useless without plugins is a true statement if you are trying to back up an arcoss disc . true there are times when decrypter can work I just didnt want someone to waste their time with a program that didn't work in this case. taken out of context you can really twist anything around.I have acknowleged that the wizard and dvd are useful and effective program just not my preferred. I think the difference is that i don't feel the need to trash someones reputation just because of a difference of opinion. I know it shouldn't matter but it is silly that you can't suggest an alternative solution or point of view. Now i have to deal with the fact that everytime i post even if its not about dvdd i get negative feedback
btw i don't like anydvd lolLast edited by floresdave; 29 Apr 2006, 05:02 AM.Comment

you have to pay for the other programs when there is FREE that works great that is why.
region+css free = $39.99
nero recode = $34.99 the versionof nero that I have is older and it would let me upgrade how ever recode will not open unless I pay the $34.99 upgrade cost. LOL
When there are programs out there for free why pay for them.Last edited by photo_angel2004; 29 Apr 2006, 10:05 AM.Comment
