gknot and xp pro

for 3 day ago i installd gknot in my pc i have a fujitsu siemens,with intel cpu 1000 hz and xp pro , when i installed gknot i got a warning from my pc that if you install this program your system can crash now or later, but when i hade xp home on the same pc i hade gknot and never hade any problems, and since most divx programs are compatible with xp today i ignorde the warning and after 10 hrs my pc complitly crash ed i lost everything i hade in it and hade to format my hard disk and do a new install with xp. and never before i hade any warnings or problems with divx software, please does anyone know what can be wrong.
