    Please help

    Hi,

Whenever I try to open an AVI file using Virtual Dub Version 1.4.10 on my Windows 2000 machine I get the following error

"VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs such as those used by Windows Media Player are not suitable".

Please help as I am unable to split an avi file.

    Can mail me at:

    tgupta1@lfsus.jnj.com

    Regards

    Sounds like:

    A) You've downloaded (rather than created) the file

    B) You don't have any DivX codec(s) installed

If so, I'd suggest that you first install the DivX v.3.11alpha codec.
