A new version of Virtualdub has been released (just realised this not too long ago actually). The new features are as outlined below. They are not especially useful for the typical encoders, but nevertheless it will appeal to those who do need the added features and/or who are interested in simply having the latest version of the software. 
Build 14279 (Version 1.4.11): [October 31, 2002]
[features added]
* Added support for reading and writing TARGA (.tga)
sequences, with optional RLE compression.
* Added simple logo filter.
* Added (not-quite-optimzed) HSV filter.
* The "Save Image Sequence" command is now batchable
and scriptable.
